Here we go again with using sets and things I haven't used. I decided to use this set, one, because I think it's pretty, two because I bought the framelits that went with it. I cut a bunch of these up and colored them in last night. They are all stamped with Staz-On on watercolor paper. The embossing folders are from Darice.

I have to get better at this. I have been trying to make at least 1 card a day. I am typically a "mass producer" when it comes to stamping. I have always thought, why make one when I can make 8. This way I can also keep one to never give away.
Well, that thought has passed now. Also, I've been trying to live by my new motto of "Use Your Shiznick!" I have a very bad habit of "hoarding" everything, from background paper to anything and everything else. If you've noticed, I've been using my stuff.
Another thing I have to get better at is color combinations. I decided to use this image to from the Stampin' Up! For The Birds set. (LOVE IT!!!). I used Pacific Point, Crushed Curry, a touch of Tangerine Tango on the underside of the birdie, mellow moss for the grass and Going Gray (so sad this is discontinued. They really do need to bring this back). Then I was stuck... what paper am I going to put with this? So I pulled out my hoarded stash of Stampin' Up's! DSP and found the Walk In The Garden series. Just so happens it uses Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango. The Stamping Gods were smiling on me!!!
I love the border punch... and wanted to give the Pacific Point a little pop, and again, the Stamping Gods were smiling on me when I found this Sizzix folder that had the same pattern on it that the border punch has. Who would have thunk it?!?!??!
I do have to admit, I made 2 of these. Some habits are hard to break.
(PS) I used watercolor paper, ink pads and a blender pen. Love this technique!!!

I made two more cards before the day is out. Too bad you can't see it, but I used my glitter pen to give it just a touch of bling. How cute is this image!?!?!?!! I love Whipper Snapper stamps!!! I don't have the stamp though, this is an image that was sent to me. Thank you SplitCoast Stampers!
How stinkin' cute!!!!!
I am still making cards with the images that I had colored in from a couple of years ago. I wish I had these stamps!!! These are so darn cute. I can't thank the stampers enough, that gave me the images. I just love these. I hope you like them.

How cute is this? Another image I found that I had colored in from a couple of years ago. I'm not exactly sure who the digi stamp is from, I believe it is from Meljen, http://meljensdesigns.com . Hint, Hint, LOVE her work!!!! So darn cute!!! I know the saying is definitely from Meljen.
And then I realized I had these cure little clothes pins, Thanks Rachel Ezell !!! All of this was chalked also.
What do you think? Cute? I love it.

A few years ago, I went to the ocean with my friend Shawna and her daughter Carly. I had colored in several images. I went through an accordian file folder that I had with several images in it, and found this cute House Mouse image. And I had it all colored and finished. SO i just had to put the card together. I thought of Emily, who's 13th birthday is coming up. What do you think? I thought this was so gosh darn adorable, I didn't want to give it up! But, it is in the mail and on the way to her.
Happy Birthday Emily!!!!

I have to give everyone a huge T H A N K Y O U for attending and making this such a wonderful swap. And thank you so much to the Dundalk Moose Lodge for letting us have it at their hall.
It was really wonderful to see so many old friends and make new ones. The day started at 9am. It was nice and relaxing. There was a lot of space for everyone to spread out. The food that everyone brought was amazing!!!! I can't wait to do this again in the spring. (Which I've already reserved the hall for May 4th, 2013, Saturday). I will be posting the swap on Splitcoaststampers website under Get It Together after Christmas.
Take a look at the fun we had;
Lynn talking to Shawna and Laura;
Crystal was stamping her heart out;
Rachel was having a great time. We haven't seen her in quite a while. She has been busy with her three kiddies and going to college;
Lisa, Andrea and Karen;
Lisa and Andrea are so silly!
Loretta having fun!!!
I don't think Mary likes her picture being taken;
Mary Helen... good to see you again!!!
Tracey came all the way from Alaska!!!! She is in red!
And her friend Cherie, who drove down from Ft. Drum, NY!!!
Thank you so much for coming all the way here and enjoying our swap.
Angie, you are amazing. She got home from work at 2am and made the swap at 9am!!
Amy Green and her daughters. She makes these terrific mug organizers and matching bags. She can make them in tons of different fabrics. If you have a specific fabric in mind, just let me know and I'll put you in touch with her. She is a mom of 4, 2 girls and 2 boys. The daughter on the left has autism. She does really terrific work and I love her mug organizers!!!
AND ONTO THE CARDS!!!!
Please forgive me. I was not able to get the name of who made what card. I wanted to grab people as they were leaving, but couldn't get everyone. So if you see your card here, and there is no name, please, please let me know so I can give you the credit for your wonderful card.
Tracy Tripp all the way from Alaska!!
I am missing a few cards. I guess I didn't have an opportunity to make those that are not shown. For those of you who are not shown, please send me a pic of your card and I will include it here.
Thank you all again for coming. I had a really fabulous time!!!! Can't wait until May 4th, 2013!!!
Rachel's carrot recipe;
2 pounds carrots, peeled and sliced; cook about 10 minutes. (You can save some time to use the precut carrots slices which are pretty and evenly sliced.)
Combine the following ingredients, bring to a boil, then add carrots and remove from heat:
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1 onion, sliced*
- 1 tsp. prepared mustard
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup sugar
- ¾ cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 bell pepper, cut in rings*
- Salt and pepper
- ½ cup oil
Once completed, chill and serve!
*The recipe says sliced or rings but it is easier to eat when they are chopped.
