Inspiring!

This is what inspires you... besides April teaching us to make a pansy with the butterfly punch... Rich and I went to spend an afternoon/evening with friends we haven't seen in years.  Gosh it was so wonderful.  Dee and Larry are retired (well deserved)... and she loves her flower beds.  Dee has gorgeous pansies... and I thought this would be a nice thank you card to send to them.
Gotta love those Stampin' Up jeweled brads!!!

And tomorrow is the IWIA Shoebox swap. The theme is Masculine cards or Patriotic cards.  This is what I made;

Rich was there when I was making this...  he said men don't like ribbons, buttons or bows.  He said we are simple creatures, and they like things plain.  So...  he loved this card.

April's Stamp Club and cards stamping with friends...

We had our stamp club meeting last week. April Prachniak, http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/mystampplace/blog
April makes wonderful cards.  Here is what we did;

A close up of the pansy. I's prettier in person. I think the shimmer paper deflected some of the light, because this is gorgeous. And I love it that it was with the Stampin' Up! Butterfly punch.
This was using the watercolor on the shimmer paper....  it makes the rose gorgeous!!!

Then this past Thursday, a few friends came over to stamp.  I was hoping April would make this for my stamp club next months club.  We saw this in the Stampin' Up! Success magazine.  So she came over to make it and we found it would probably be too much for 6 stampers to make along with 2 other projects for club night.    But alas, she did make us all the monkey and is going to challenge us to do something with it...

And I met a gal, Kelly Kleinsmith.  I met her at Pam Parto's stamp class one evening.  She lives within a mile of my house!!!  It was fate!!  Kelly is really getting into stamping and had a great time.  She had brought this card she had made.  Isn't it gorgeous?!?!?!

And then Shawna and I brainstormed one day.  We are both in need of cards for our boxes.  Instead of making a card when needed, we have 'go to' boxes.  So once a month we're going to meet and make 24 cards each.  I'll give her 1/2 of mine, she will give me 1/2 of hers.  If others join in that evening, we'll split the 24 that we make.  Here is Shawna's sympathy card. This is so beautiful...
