Here we go again with using sets and things I haven't used. I decided to use this set, one, because I think it's pretty, two because I bought the framelits that went with it. I cut a bunch of these up and colored them in last night. They are all stamped with Staz-On on watercolor paper. The embossing folders are from Darice.
JustKeepingBusy - Linda "LZ" Zaworski Welcome to my stamping blog. I love stamping and letting my creativity flow. I hope you enjoy what you see, and that it inspires you. SplitCoastStamper Member: lrzaworski

For The Birds!
I have to get better at this. I have been trying to make at least 1 card a day. I am typically a "mass producer" when it comes to stamping. I have always thought, why make one when I can make 8. This way I can also keep one to never give away.
Well, that thought has passed now. Also, I've been trying to live by my new motto of "Use Your Shiznick!" I have a very bad habit of "hoarding" everything, from background paper to anything and everything else. If you've noticed, I've been using my stuff.
Another thing I have to get better at is color combinations. I decided to use this image to from the Stampin' Up! For The Birds set. (LOVE IT!!!). I used Pacific Point, Crushed Curry, a touch of Tangerine Tango on the underside of the birdie, mellow moss for the grass and Going Gray (so sad this is discontinued. They really do need to bring this back). Then I was stuck... what paper am I going to put with this? So I pulled out my hoarded stash of Stampin' Up's! DSP and found the Walk In The Garden series. Just so happens it uses Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango. The Stamping Gods were smiling on me!!!
I love the border punch... and wanted to give the Pacific Point a little pop, and again, the Stamping Gods were smiling on me when I found this Sizzix folder that had the same pattern on it that the border punch has. Who would have thunk it?!?!??!
I do have to admit, I made 2 of these. Some habits are hard to break.
(PS) I used watercolor paper, ink pads and a blender pen. Love this technique!!!

Another cute card!
How cute is this? Another image I found that I had colored in from a couple of years ago. I'm not exactly sure who the digi stamp is from, I believe it is from Meljen, http://meljensdesigns.com . Hint, Hint, LOVE her work!!!! So darn cute!!! I know the saying is definitely from Meljen.
And then I realized I had these cure little clothes pins, Thanks Rachel Ezell !!! All of this was chalked also.
What do you think? Cute? I love it.

Emily's Birthday card
A few years ago, I went to the ocean with my friend Shawna and her daughter Carly. I had colored in several images. I went through an accordian file folder that I had with several images in it, and found this cute House Mouse image. And I had it all colored and finished. SO i just had to put the card together. I thought of Emily, who's 13th birthday is coming up. What do you think? I thought this was so gosh darn adorable, I didn't want to give it up! But, it is in the mail and on the way to her.
Happy Birthday Emily!!!!

Amy Green and her daughters. She makes these terrific mug organizers and matching bags. She can make them in tons of different fabrics. If you have a specific fabric in mind, just let me know and I'll put you in touch with her. She is a mom of 4, 2 girls and 2 boys. The daughter on the left has autism. She does really terrific work and I love her mug organizers!!!

Rachel's carrot recipe;
Penny Carrots
2 pounds carrots, peeled and sliced; cook about 10 minutes. (You can save some time to use the precut carrots slices which are pretty and evenly sliced.)
Combine the following ingredients, bring to a boil, then add carrots and remove from heat:
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1 onion, sliced*
- 1 tsp. prepared mustard
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup sugar
- ¾ cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 bell pepper, cut in rings*
- Salt and pepper
- ½ cup oil
Once completed, chill and serve!
*The recipe says sliced or rings but it is easier to eat when they are chopped.
