Look at this cutie!!!  I am not very good at matching patterned paper to colors, and this was my first real effort. I have a TON of background paper and collect it more than anything, along with ribbon and buttons. So I decided to go for it on this card...  What do you think?

Inspiring!

This is what inspires you... besides April teaching us to make a pansy with the butterfly punch... Rich and I went to spend an afternoon/evening with friends we haven't seen in years.  Gosh it was so wonderful.  Dee and Larry are retired (well deserved)... and she loves her flower beds.  Dee has gorgeous pansies... and I thought this would be a nice thank you card to send to them.

And tomorrow is the IWIA Shoebox swap. The theme is Masculine cards or Patriotic cards.  This is what I made;

Rich was there when I was making this...  he said men don't like ribbons, buttons or bows.  He said we are simple creatures, and they like things plain.  So...  he loved this card.

Ok... this is my first attempt at "Paper Piecing". This is the Sizzix Sizzlits Die Set 4PK - Stuffed Animal Set http://www.sizzix.com/product/120, you can get on sale at AC Moore or Michaels, or use your 40% off coupon.

I have never done paper piecing, and even though, I'm sure it's been around forever... I wanted to give it a try.  You'll have to let me know what you think.

New Cards... 9-7-09

Well... other than making cards for the swap last week, I haven't really been inspired too much, nor had the time. But today was a great, lazy day so I wanted to do a few cards.

This one is for Ethan... the little man in the family. He's the first son of my neice, first grandson on 4 sides of the family and first great grandson. You don't think this little man is spoiled do ya?!?!? HAHAHAH.. But I sent a card last week and my neice said he went nuts because he loves getting mail. So... I am going to start making him cute cards to send when I can. This one is for Ethan...



And it just so happens to be his daddy's birthday. I'm a little late getting this out, but it's better now than never. Plus he'll love the scratch-off tickets we put inside (We're all addicted to the scratch-offs!!). This looks better in person because the candle and other parts have glitter glue on them.

And these three I made just to make... I have friends who need to know I'm thinkin' of them... so I'm sending these off to them.

SHOEBOX Swap at Lynn's house

Oh my gosh!!! We had such an awesome time. Lynn suggested that we do a shoebox swap. This was for me, Crystal T., Michele M. Donna H & Kim, but Kim had to work. We had such an awesome time, and this was the first time the IWIA (I Want It All - club name we gave ourselves... HAHAHAHHA!), got to meet Michele. Now she's a IWIA club member!!! Instead of a democracy, you know, President, VP, etc... we decided it should be royalty. Donna is the queen. That goes without saying!! I am the court jester!! HAHAHAHH!! Go figure!

These are the wonderful cards that we made; I hope you all enjoy them as much as we had fun making them.

this one below, Lynn made as a thank you card for her birthday present. It made me cry... because of the Shar-pei. It's so gorgeous!

It's a Dog's Life...

Well... it's always a good night when friends get together and stamp. But it's even MORE fun when you order chinese food in and have wine coolers chilled, just a waitin' for ya!!! YUMMM!!! I don't know what got my mouth watering more... chinese food and wine coolers or stampin' with my friends!! They are both delicious!!

My friend Lynn H. has been talking about getting together and stamping some "dog themed" cards for a friend of hers. I don't have any dog stamps, but I have paper and more than happy to stamp... so FINALLY!!! We got together. Stampin' on a Mission!!!

This is what we came up with in between eating, drinking and being merry! I sure hope her friend likes them as much as we did making them. Thanks Lynn H. Donna H. & Kim B!!!! Had a blast!!! (PS)... Pam... we missed you!!!!

Retired Little Layers from SU.

I love ladybugs and I have an "Insect swap" to do on Splitcoaststampers. This is the card I made for it. I bought a Big Shot when I heard that this is one of the latest and greatest stamping tools to have, and I can't live without it now. I absolutely love it.

I absolutely LOVE the SU nature and flower sets. This is a new set for me, I only have this one and my hostess sets that are new. But that is fine, at least I do have a couple of sets to use.

I also used the retired Spring Pansy set to go with it. Looks much better in person with the glitter on the faces of the pansies.
